Dermapen or micropunction therapy

Dermapen is a skin rejuvenation technique, also called «micro needling» that uses micropunctions. It is a non-surgical, non-ablative and minimally invasive skin rejuvenation technique.
Dermapen is prescribed to treat the following conditions:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Firming of the skin
  • Acne scars

The Dermapen is a small device that uses micro-needles to create a controlled and safe injury on the skin. Through an oscillation action, each micro-needle perforates the dermal tissue and creates a channel or a “micro-injury”. With more than 8000 impacts per minute, the collagen stimulation effect is spectacular. These skin micropunctures correct surface irregularities, improve skin texture and treat acne lesions.

The body then puts its healing mechanisms into action to fill these microchannels. This stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, the creation of new blood capillaries is stimulated.
This neovascularization, as well as the production of new collagen, reduces the risk of scarring and gives a rejuvenated appearance. The skin then regains a beautiful texture, deep hydration, and better firmness.

Results may be visible after a session, but for optimal results, a few treatments should be scheduled at a frequency of 4 weeks. The effects will be progressive and cumulative after each treatment. An anesthetic cream is applied before treatment to improve comfort. It is preferable not to apply makeup to the treated area within 24 hours. You can apply makeup afterward while respecting hygiene rules.
A Dermapen treatment doesn’t require any sick leave and you may return to your daily activities right after the treatment.

Results are optimized when combined with treatments of hyaluronic acids (mesotherapy) for example, as Dermapen allows better absorption of these substances.
